IDHANT FOR GIRL EDUCATION

Idhant supports quality education for children of all backgrounds. We have and will continue working towards the betterment of children across India.

In our rounds through government schools and NGOs for education, we have found that the number of girls and boys is nearly the same in all enrolled educational facilities! This is a huge development from what it was years ago and we are very proud to see the growth in the Indian Education System towards girl education. We have seen several rural parents growing from their old mentality of ‘Why should we send girls to schools? They will anyways just sit at home and take care of the kids’ to an evolved one of ‘My daughter will be a doctor!’.

Idhant has worked with several girls on different skills such as sports, general awareness and crafts. We want maximum girls from our locale to be enrolled in good schools, which provide quality education. Properly motivated, these girls can reach great heights and we plan on supporting them through this tough journey.

To help more girls in our country to fulfil their potential, we would like to encourage everyone to support Girl Education through several social platforms in India. Some of the NGOs whose work we have followed and admire are listed below.

GIRLUP VRIDDHI

GirlUp Vriddhi (@girlup.vriddhi) is a club registered under the girlup campaign (recognised by the United Nations) based in pune working towards overall development of women in the region. GirlUp Vriddhi focuses on impacting people’s mindset and changing their lifestyle by creating awareness about women empowerment and feminism.

Srishti Pansari, founder of GirlUp Vriddhi along with her fantastic team conducted a workshop on 7th March, 2020 on Menstrual Health for the girls of standard 6th and 7th.

An extremely sensitive topic in this generation and it’s very important to understand what message to deliver while you’re taking a session.

Topics covered under this session:

1. What is menstrual cycle?

2. Why is menstrual hygiene important?

3. How to handle societal issues related to menstruation?

4. How to be comfortable with menstruation?

A quick and simple 45 min session was taken and quite yet the best session so far where explaining such a delicate topic to these young minds is commendable in itself. Due to a proper guideline given by their mentor gynaecologists and doctors, it was easier for the team to make these kids understand in such a short period of time.
